Cuddle Time with Dad

Isn't it funny how the littlest things in life are often times the greatest? I can never seem to resit picking up my camera whenever I see the little ones sleeping peacefully (especially when they are snuggled up with dad!). Don't my two little men look sweet resting together?

I am afraid that I have spoiled Hunter -- he now only seems to nap well when he is snuggled up next to someone. When I put him in his crib to nap it usually only lasts about 30 to 45 min. but he will sleep snuggled up with someone for hours. I must say that before Hunter came along I was not a napper....Now, napping has become one of my most treasured hobbies :) However, I think between the long naps and cuddle time that my house seems to suffer. Oh well! I love to snuggle up with my little man. When he wakes up his little curls are drenched in sweat and my arm is usually asleep as well. I know that the time will come all too soon that these treasured naps of ours will be no longer so I enjoy them to the fullest now! Weekend naps are the BEST!!!

They say the cutest things....

Now that Gracie can express her thought in full sentences it is so entertaining to have a conversation with her. The things she says are just so cute and funny. I love it!

The other morning Gracie and I were downstairs eating breakfast and it was just the two of us (everyone else was still sleeping) when she said the funniest thing to me. A few months back we donated a big stuffed elephant to the Goodwill that use to be in Gracie's room. She did not seem to have an issue with it and had not talked about it since then. Then the other morning, out of the middle of nowhere Gracie asks me "Mommy...where did that big Elephant go that use to watch over me?". I reminded her that we had taken it to the Goodwill so that other kids that did not have toys could have him. She looked at me for a moment and then said "Well we need to get him back real quick...before anyone else touches him and puts him in their car." It was so cute and funny that I did not even know what to say to her. She had this cute little mad face and was so very serious about it. What a cutie!

May 2nd --
This evening when dad was giving Gracie & Hunter a bath Hunter's bladder got the best of him and well you can guess what happened next. Sweet little Gracie's response was "Hunter don't pee on me please!".

Gracie informed me tonight that "Boys don't eat yogurt. Only Girls do."

Hunter is starting to talk too now, but it is funny because he is totally different then Gracie was when she started talking. When Gracie started talking she would pick up a word and say that word often and as time went on she started saying more and more words. Hunter is funny because every once in a while he will just say a word or two as clear as day and then he will not say the word again for a while (with the exception of Mom, momma, etc. which he seems to say quite frequently). We have heard him say "up" "down" "more" "ball" "nanna" and tonight as clear as day he repeated after me and said "I got...". How cute.... can't wait to hear what he will say next.

We were on our way to have dinner at On the Border when we stopped at the red light that we would normally turn at to go to Sip-N-Play. A motorcycle was waiting at the light next to us and Gracie said "Look momma a motorcycle". I said "Yes honey that is a motorcycle." Then the light turned green and the motorcycle started to turn. Gracie said "Look momma where him going?...I think him going to Sip-N-Play. We got to follow him!". It was soooo cute! The things their little brains can remember is amazing to me!

Sept 2009
Gracie has come up with the cutest name for our little man now. She has started calling him "Curly Handsome". Isn't that cute? We all love our little "Curly Handsome!".

Hunter has started saying more and more words each day, he's recently added boat, light, rock, please, danks, olive, and now he tells his sister "Sorry" after hitting her. His little temper is starting to come out more and more each day. He gets that from his father!

Latest Lingo
Gracie's newest saying is "Momma, are you thinkin what I'm thinkin?". It is pretty cute to hear those words coming from a just turned 3 little one, and the part that is even better is that you never know what is going to follow that phrase, but whatever it is it is sure to make you laugh.

Hunter's latest lingo is to say "VRROOM, VRROOM" every time he sees a motorcycle. He is absolutely fascinated with motorcycles!
